THE RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP – the BBC’s highly influential pioneers of electronic music, responsible for an array of classic British TV soundtracks, including Doctor Who and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – will release a suite of synth improvisations entitled ‘Burials In Several Earths’ on May 19th.
‘Burials In Several Earths’ is The Radiophonic Workshop’s first commercial release since 1985 and sets out to evoke “the haunting qualities of their classic work whilst exploring fresh new vistas of sound”. MARTYN WARE of HEAVEN 17 and B.E.F. appears on the album, as does producer STEVE ‘DUB’ JONES who is know for his mixing for artists including UNKLE, The Chemical Brothers and NEW ORDER.
